Step One: JUMP
April 21-24, 2017 - Stadhouderskade 92, Amsterdam
"My very first exhibition Step One: JUMP was actually the celebration of a choice. In a short period of time I had realized that I wanted my metal works to be directed to others, I wanted to make clear that a dialogue with and for the people was at the center of my practice. I was demanding a certain engagement to people. The title itself carried these important elements: its imperative tone directly addressed the audience demanding its attention, while the literal meaning was an encouragement - or maybe just a personal observation - that change in life come with some risks, and that they have to be accepted, or even welcomed. In that period, I felt that many people around me were longing for a change in their lives. So I decided to start my journey by telling them that sometimes both feet just need to leave the ground".
