GOLDENFANGO is a project that brings together three distinct artistic voices for an immersive journey into the alchemy of sculpture and movement.

Curated by Daniele Scauso, the exhibition presents the works of Daniele Scauso (IT/NL), Willem Harbers (NL), and Anees Maani (JO/ES), inviting the public on a journey that dialogues with distant cultures, possible futures, and the tactile beauty of the human experience.

In the stunning setting of the Scuderie Aldobrandini, the artists' creations spur a dynamic conversation that explores the organic and the abstract, and experiences, through movement and collective experience, the performative potential of the object.

GOLDENFANGO e’ un progetto che riunisce tre voci artistiche distinte per un viaggio immersivo nell'alchimia della scultura e del movimento.

Curata da Daniele Scauso, la mostra presenta le creazioni di Daniele Scauso (IT/NL), Willem Harbers (NL), ed Anees Maani (JO/ES), invitando il pubblico in un percorso che dialoga con culture lontane, futuri possibili e la bellezza tattile dell'esperienza umana.

Nella splendida cornice delle Scuderie Aldobrandini, le opere degli artisti danno vita a una conversazione dinamica che esplora l’organico e l’astratto sperimentando, attraverso il movimento e l’esperienza collettiva, il potenziale performativo dell’ oggetto.

DANIELE SCAUSO

"Internalizing concepts such as protection, necessity and interaction with the other, my works are mutable objects in a continuous search for purpose and meaning. I am interested in developing a personal language of metal and repeated unions, experimentation and storytelling.
My works, in a sense, are never finished".

“Interiorizzando concetti come protezione, necessità e interazione con l’altro, le mie opere sono oggetti mutevoli in continua ricerca di scopo e significato. Mi interessa sviluppare un linguaggio personale fatto di metallo e unioni ripetute, di sperimentazione e racconto.
I miei lavori, in un certo senso, non sono mai finiti”.

ANEES MAANI

"I study forms in nature and in human culture: how they occur, why they occur and their evolution.

In my work I focus on how these forms appear in living organisms, geological features or man-made objects.

My research began in Petra, Jordan, studying Nabataean sculpture and architecture, and has expanded to include its influences and ancient abstract geometric sculpture from throughout the region, from Jordan to Yemen."

“Studio le forme in natura e nella cultura umana: come avvengono, perché avvengono e la loro evoluzione.

Nel mio lavoro mi concentro su come queste forme appaiono negli organismi viventi, nelle caratteristiche geologiche o negli oggetti realizzati dall'uomo.

La mia ricerca è iniziata a Petra, in Giordania, studiando la scultura e l'architettura Nabatea, e si è ampliata fino a includere le sue influenze e l'antica scultura geometrica astratta di tutta la regione, dalla Giordania allo Yemen”.

“Yes, that is something that intrigues me about Willem’s work.

Maybe he is not a “mad scientist” after all, but rather an archaeologist of sorts who has come from the distant future, bringing with him material remains or “evidence” from our contemporary civilization which he dug up somewhere in an effort to understand mankind in the early twenty-first century. […]

I guess that’s why his work sometimes appears both archaic and futuristic at the same time. Willem seem to be talking about contemporary society from a more or less outside position, as though you were looking at us from an entirely different perspective and commenting on the absurdities you discover in our culture[…]. But this being “off” is what makes the works so fascinating".

“Sì, anche questo è un aspetto che mi incuriosisce del lavoro di Willem.

Forse non è uno “scienziato pazzo”, dopo tutto, ma piuttosto una specie di archeologo venuto da un lontano futuro, portando con sé resti materiali o “prove” della nostra civiltà contemporanea che ha dissotterrato da qualche parte nel tentativo di comprendere l'umanità all'inizio del XXI secolo.[…]

Credo sia per questo che il suo lavoro a volte appare arcaico e futuristico allo stesso tempo. […] Willem sembra parlare della nostra società contemporanea da una posizione più o meno esterna, come se ci guardaste da una prospettiva completamente diversa commentando le assurdità della nostra cultura. […] Ma questo essere “fuori” è ciò che rende le opere così affascinanti”.
