GESTURES_GEBAREN
Gebaren_Gestures is a community art project that celebrates and reconnects residents with local culture and history through craftsmanship and participatory artistic practices, while exploring unconventional channels for exhibiting art in urban contexts
Rooted in the Bellamybuurt in Amsterdam Oud-West but open to all Amsterdam's residents, the project has seen 38 people taking part in a series of workshops revolving around the iconic element of the hand.
A group conversation of 76 hands joined forces for the creation of one final metal outdoor installation to be seen in the Bellamystraat 59-65 in the period June-August 2026.
GESTURES_GEBAREN is an initiative of Daniele Scauso, in collaboration with the Atelier Meister Scauso and the residents of the Bellamybuurt, Amsterdam.
