"I asked photographer Mart Boudestein to help me visualizing two concepts that recur often in my practice: the concepts of Protection, and of Usability (or Performance) of an artwork. I guess I wanted to personally and physically look at art as a tool. As a practical asset to resource continuously, but especially when battered by the strokes that life can give. Art - and I mean for it any artistic expression possibly imaginable - as tool to equip us with. A fundamental defense for our soul. A context where to find temporary shelter, spiritual refuge. An inner place where to buy time, think properly and don't lose ourselves. A resource again despair, because it is so easy to. And along with protection, comes strength and its use in counterattacking, if necessary, because often it is"
